Save $1000 Brewing your own Coffee
It is your typical Monday morning, the alarm goes off, and suddenly you are craving a cup of coffee. This is a familiar situation experienced by many of us. According to an article published on the Huntington Post, “Americans consume 400 million cups of coffee per day, equivalent to 146 billion cups of coffee per year, making the United States the leading consumer of coffee in the world.” With our very rushed lives, we tend to leave home, and rush to the nearest Starbucks for our morning cup of coffee. However, this morning routine can get very expensive quickly. Here is why you should brew your own coffee and save at least $1000 per year.
Coffee from starbucks is costing at least $1000 per year in savings
The likes of starbucks, Blue Bottle, Pete’s Coffee are all around us. They charge anywhere from $4.50 to $5 for a caramel frappuccino, and that is nuts!!! That $5 coffee, 5 times per week turns into $25 per week, $100 monthly, and $1200 yearly. That is an insane amount of money to drop on coffee.
Brewing at home
I would advise you to resist the temptation, and to brew your own coffee at home. You could buy 240 servings of coffee at the grocery store for about $10. Assuming you drink coffee 5 times per week, you would need about 5 containers for a total of $50. You can get a coffee maker like this one for about $25 on amazon, and for a grand total of $75 drink coffee year round. If you do not have the time, use a programmable coffee maker that allows you to brew at a given time.
If one of your resolutions for 2020 was to save money, one of the easiest ways to save more than a whopping $1000 is by brewing your own coffee at home. All you need is a $25 coffee maker from amazon, and about 5 containers of coffee of 240 servings. It will be very gratifying once you see yourself with an extra $1000 in your pocket.
